Church Planting
Following the model seen in Acts as well as statistical verification, church planting is the single most effective way to evangelize and area and see communities transformed by the Gospel. In light of this, Providence seeks to be engaged in planting churches itself and at times assisting others as they seek to plant churches. The specific process of the planting of new churches will vary somewhat from church to church, but the emphasis on the heralding of the unchanging Gospel message will never change though the methodology will always be changing based upon the context of the culture of the church plant.

In addition, we are called as a church in a region where many churches have for whatever reason gotten away from the life and mission of the church as seen in the Bible. Some of this is from sinful neglect, some of this is from bad circumstances and disaster. Many of these churches have gone too far to recover and are dying. At Providence, it is our desire to step in and serve the remaining believers at these churches and be good stewards of the investment made in property by previous generations of believers. This would look different in every circumstance, but the consistent goal would be to help a church gain a missional focus and reestablish the church as a Gospel advancing, organic church.

Going

Juarez, Mexico
In July of 2011, 19 people went on Providence's first mission trip. We went to Juarez, Mexico through a mission organization called Casas por Cristo (Homes because of Christ). The team built a house from the ground up. But more importantly a seed for the Gospel was planted.
